Coming together as one parish, we have spent a lot of time considering how to bring together three churches with three distinct ideas of parish life and traditions, as well as how to best minister to the needs of all those living within our parish territory. The fruits are beginning to show, but one thing that often falls to the end of the list is how to best welcome people with special needs. 

Jesus had many encounters with people who were marginalized by society, including people with disabilities. Jesus not only healed them and/or forgave their sins, he also restored them to their community. Our mission is no different - to proclaim the Good News (Gospel) and declare that the Kingdom of God is at hand for ALL who believe. That means not just building a ramp or adding another handicapped parking place, but identifying the gifts that everyone brings to our parish community and letting them use them in the service of God. To that end, we will hold a Town Hall Meeting at St. Malachy Church on September 29 at 6:30 PM to explore how we can fulfill this mission.

Everyone is invited - people with special needs, family members, friends, caregivers, and anyone else who wants to make our parish a more welcoming place. Come and help us make our parish more welcoming to all.
