The Junior Ladies of Charity are young women in grades 8-12 who gather together in order to be able to engage in the community in various acts of service. Our goal is to serve in a spirit of humility, simplicity, and charity. Our gifts are given to us by God and in our thanks, we place these gifts in the service of others.
In order to serve in the community, we must ensure we are also gathering to build our spiritual strength. During a gathering, the Junior Ladies of Charity of Archangel Gabriel Parish seek to increase their faith, hope, and love through prayer and faith learning. We will also build fellowship and friendships in order to better be able to work collaboratively in the community and to have support in our own spiritual journeys.
The typical Sunday evening meeting would include prayer, learning about our faith, fellowship (with a snack), and planning or participating in acts of service. Examples of service we will engage in include: cards for the homebound, decorating or visiting at a nursing home, praying for the deceased, volunteering at parish events, as well as much more.
