Stewarding God's gifts and mysteries to make
 missionary disciples for Jesus Christ and his Church.

Established on January 6, 2020, Archangel Gabriel Parish is the union of the former Holy Trinity, Saint John of God, and Saint Malachy parishes. We serve the communities west of Pittsburgh, including Kennedy, McKees Rocks, Robinson, and Stowe.

What is a steward?
A steward in the ancient world was commissioned by the master of a household to administer his affairs, provide for his family, and direct other servants—all per the master’s wishes and to serve his interests.  Stewards own nothing but are responsible for everything. 

What do gifts and mysteries mean?
God's gifts are extravagant and include family, friends, neighbors, co-workers, schoolmates, land, homes, furnishings, money, opportunity; jobs, talent, hobbies, education, etc.  Mysteries, properly speaking, are the sacraments but also include the Bible, the Church, vocations to holiness, saints and mystics, clergy, parents, teachers, and other holy things.

What are missionary disciples?
A missionary disciple is a disciple who makes other disciples. 

Where did "missionary disciple" come from?
Jesus gave us the great comisson before he ascended into Heaven telling the apostles to go "make disciples of all nations" (Matthew 28:19).  In the Joy of the Gospel, Pope Francis explains that "The Church which 'goes forth' is a community of missionary disciples who take the first step, who are involved and supportive, who bear fruit and rejoice (24).  Our own Bishop sends us On Mission for the Church Alive to help our parishes, schools, and ministries become more vibrant and alive in faith.
