If you are planning a parish event or initiative, we want to do our best to help make it a success! Proper promotion can help get the word out and encourage attendance and/or support. Below are some tips for planning and promoting a parish event and a list of some of the resources that may be available to help promote your event.
TIPS FOR EVENT PLANNING
The parish has many resources to help to advertise and promote events. The Director of Communications can help create any graphics, registration forms. signs, posts, etc., and create a strategic plan for promotion.
Promotion for most events should ideally begin between 4 and 6 weeks prior to the event.
The Director of Communications can help create any graphics, registration forms, signs, posts, etc., and create a strategic plan for promotion. You may recommend or ask for certain avenues of communication, but granting of these requests will be at the discretion of the Director of Communications.
Before deciding on a date and time for your event, check the parish calendar (https://archangelgabrielparish.org/upcoming) to see what other events are scheduled for that time to avoid any conflicts.
If it’s appropriate, consider asking attendees to register, even if there is no cost. This gives you a sense of how many will attend, which can help in preparation of materials, refreshments, etc. It also has been shown to increase attendance at the events. The Director of Communication can set this up for you through the parish website or Flocknote.
Online payments can be accepted through the parish website when it is appropriate. This must be approved by the Director of Operations and set up by the Director of Communications.
